Vasovagal Syncope

Vasovagal Syncope (Fainting)

Fainting, medically known as Vasovagal Syncope, is a common reaction to medical procedures, including vaccinations. While a brief loss of consciousness might seem minor, the resulting fall can lead to severe, life-altering injuries such as head trauma, skull fractures, or broken bones.

At Braden Blumenstiel Legal Advocates Group, LLC, our mission is Righting Wrongs and Protecting Futures. If a fainting episode after a vaccine caused you or a loved one serious injury, we are here to help you seek compensation through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP).

What is Vasovagal Syncope?

Vasovagal syncope occurs when your body overreacts to certain triggers—like the prick of a needle or the sight of blood—causing a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure. This reduces blood flow to the brain, leading to a temporary loss of consciousness.

Warning Signs Before Fainting:

       Pale skin (pallor)

       Lightheadedness or dizziness

       Nausea

       Cold, clammy sweat

       Tunnel vision or blurred vision

       A feeling of warmth

Is This an "On-Table" Injury?

Yes. Vasovagal Syncope is an "on-table" injury for almost all vaccines covered by the NVICP, including the flu shot, Tdap, MMR, and HPV vaccines.

Because it is "on-table," the legal process is simplified if you meet the following criteria:

The Onset Window: The fainting episode must occur within 1 hour of the vaccination.

Severity Requirement: To qualify for a claim, the injury resulting from the faint must meet one of these three conditions:

       Symptoms or injury lasted for more than 6 months;

The injury required hospitalization and/or surgery; or

       The episode resulted in death.

The Danger of the Fall

Most vaccine-related syncope claims aren't about the faint itself, but rather the secondary injuries caused by falling. If a clinic fails to have a patient sit or lie down for 15 minutes after a shot (as recommended by the CDC), a sudden faint can result in:

       Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

       Concussions

       Facial or dental trauma

       Fractured wrists, hips, or shoulders

How We Can Help

If you were injured because you fainted shortly after a vaccination, you may be entitled to compensation for your medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

The team at Braden Blumenstiel Legal Advocates Group understands the NVICP's strict timelines and requirements. We will review your medical records, document the circumstances of the fall, and advocate for the maximum compensation possible.
